School magazine-beginning

The white of the words ‘secondary school education works well because it contrasts against the black background. The masthead is not big and bold enough to be the main text on the page- are active, eye-catching colours with a friendly nature that may induce a sense of courage and energy.
The text explains what is article is about and it’s too small to  be able to read and included too much information for each .This makes hard for the reader to be able to read the words so in this way they don’t know what is the content about.
A serial of fonts used which creates a more formal style, which works well for this cover page as it is for a school magazine.
The viewer can easily see that ‘social network’ and ‘teachers technology’ is the school’s  new updates focused on. It is written in bold white typography and surrounded by blue colour so it stands out against the image from background.
Colours blue and red show connotation  of  boys and girls which shows  that everyone is  respected and treated the same  which gave the school a good name.
A clear red and white theme with the typography. The use of red connotes love and hints to the themes of the school. The use of white typography stands out against the natural background of the image. The white typography has also been made to look like it is light in the nature. There is nature present in the image and so therefore the typography anchors with the image.
The backlighting in the image creates silhouettes behind the main character. This creates a sense of light vs. dark. The use of silhouettes also creates a sense of mystery and curiosity as the viewer cannot tell what it is, but can tell what from outline that it looks quite friendly
There is only one image which draws your attention especially  with the colour against the excessive use of red everywhere else. It shows for young children in their uniform. They are smiling which suggests they are happy at school.
The title is used to inform the audience  and to give a clear and short summary of the article .
Advertisement – Used to show the readers things that are relevant to them based on what they’re reading as a way of getting more.
The layout of the contents  page  has been split up into 3 coloums. On e includes a picture with a girl and  the text. The second one  includes a picture of a group of girls at the bottom plus the text and the third one contain a different image with a text under.
The page numbers are a good  size  and are clear to see .The colour is the same as the text so could come across as boring . I would maybe use a different colour for either the text or the number to make on of the to stand out.
Masthead (main title) – This is used to inform the audience what this article is about and to give them an insight into the article

Target audience:
The audience will range from 11-18 years old, being the students of the school as well as potential students. However, the magazine would also be suitable for the parents to read in order for them to have more information about the school and what’s going on at the school. However, the students of the school are a priority.
In order to appeal to this range of audience, the magazine should include colourful images and not be mainly text based as it can easily becoming boring to the eye and thus my target audience wouldn’t be interested in reading the magazine.
